Gavin Manners turns the ordinary into extraordinary

Learn how Gavin was able to turn this early Trnio Plus test into a futuristic creation with just a few tools at hand.

Gavin’s process in creating this remarkable design started out with this early test with Trnio Plus - a scan of a Bobcat forklift. Gavin was able to take this standard 3D model and turn it into this striking ship. See below his technique in building an incredible and one-of-a-kind structure with Trnio Plus.

β€œFor the ship I used a base scan of a bobcat loader. The idea is to basically make as many different and interesting shapes as you can using the base scan. To do that I use boolean operations to cut and isolate specific parts of the mesh that I think I can do something with (in the video you'll see me thinking about this and experimenting as I go), and then I use predominantly the mirror modifier to create new shapes. I used a lot of experimentation moving the origin points around and trying different types of mirroring to find something I liked. This also covers up errors in the scan or areas where I wasn't able to scan properly.”
